Drac is Count Dracula, from Hotel Transylvania. He is as closely based on Bela Lugosi’s Dracula as was permitted by Universal Studios and a PG-rating.

Family: Drac is a widower, with a teenage daughter. He has four best friends in Frankenstein, Wolfman, Mummy, and Invisible Man, who he considers family.

Physical description: Drac is tall and thin with great posture. Black hair that he keeps slicked back, blue eyes, pointy ears, fangs, sharp nails that he can make into claws, and, of course, pale white skin. There is no mention of his age, but he is alive and a father in 1898.

Drac always wears a black suit/tuxedo, complete with long flowing cape that billows at his command. Any accents on his suit or cape are purple. He doesn’t wear a hat, but given his age and the era he comes from, it is likely that he would consider it if he was going to get all dolled up to impress someone. He has no facial hair, not even when we see him younger.

Despite his immortality, Drac both eats and drinks. Of course, he drinks blood substitute and eats mice, scorpions, ‘worm cake’, ‘scream cheese’, and other weird foods. He’s allergic to garlic and sunlight.

Personality: Controooool freak! Drac is basically a really nice guy. Judging from his choice in friends and their ‘boyhood’ antics, including having a band and travelling to far off places like Hawaii, we can assume that Drac was a bit more of a wild bachelor than he will admit. When we meet him, though, he’s become a very anal retentive, lonely (grieving) person, afraid to try new things and desperate to hide himself and his daughter away from the world. Actually, he’s done a pretty good job, having only a passing idea of what is going on in the current world, almost all of Drac’s knowledge and technology has halted at 1898. He does adapt really well, though, and doesn’t freak out at the inescapable bits of new tech, like airports, jet planes, and television/movies, which hints that maybe he’s been out of the hotel a few times.

He has a serious case of human paranoia, but it’s more geared towards humanity as a whole, or groups of humans, and not towards individual humans. Probably because he can hold his own against individuals, but a crowd with pitchforks and fire...

When he was younger, Drac was a traveler of the world who did all sorts of things that the young and idle rich did, including being lead singer in a band. He was also, apparently, a bit shy, at least when he was serious, since it’s Martha who takes the initiative to kiss him when they ‘zing’.

As a husband, he was apparently very adoring and calm, and he was a doting father. To the point where his wife would wake in the middle of the day and find him holding Mavis. When the villagers came to kill him and his family, Drac actually tells Martha to take Mavis and hide and we see him trying to talk calmly to the people at the door.

After Martha dies and he runs away with Mavis, Drac becomes the person we see today. He is still calm and doting towards Mavis, but his seriousness transformed to a need to control his environment. He is now a control freak and hates “roughhousing” and disorder. He is still caring and happy, but we see a lot more of it is forced or because of Mavis, rather than because his life in general is good. Basically? He’s stuck in his grief and won’t show it.

Powers?

Oh geez, he’s Count Dracula! He has powers of TK, hypnotism and mind erasing (that requires he look directly into your eyes... and you not be wearing contacts), can shift into a bat, can run really fast and, as a bat, can fly as fast as a commercial jet, can hover and fly and otherwise defy gravity (he sat on a table that turned upside down and he didn’t fall off, doesn’t find it odd that Mavis walks on the ceiling), can call his clothes out and change them instantly, heals on his own and fast, speaks various monster dialects (including rat and flea).

As a Dracula, his family name, his word is sacred. He can be in moon light and artificial light, but actual sunlight burns him. He drinks blood substitutes since human blood is “so fatty and you never know where it's been”.

As a bat, he can still talk and do mind control and can carry heavy objects, including young boys >.>

Physically, he is tall and imposing and not above lurking over you. He is strong enough to lift a young wolf by the scruff and a human carrying everything he owns in a backpack, both with ease and no strain at all. He has fangs all the time and he can change his nails to very sharp claws as he wants.

He cannot be touched by sunlight without burning, garlic makes his throat swell, and while he drinks blood, he prefers blood substitute and does eat “regular” food as well. NO idea on if it’s necessary, but he does and makes no big deal about it.

Oh, and he’s wealthy. At least in the monster world.
